About me

I am a second-generation Korean born here in Amiskwacîwâskahikan (Edmonton). I am a mother, a person living with chronic illness, and a lover of all things that grow green. I am a gardening enthusiast, and a novice bird appreciator. I am an artist, though my practice has been redefined by disability and I am still finding my way through. I will happily chatter nonstop about plants, and likely offer you one. I am a PhD Candidate at the University of Alberta, and I like to joke that I will open up a plant shop called PhD Plant Shop, where the tagline is “Buy a plant. Help me pay off my student loans.”

About my work

Here are some things that I’ve been thinking/writing/making about:

  • Care and care practices

  • Printmaking theories and how they might be applied to theories of care

  • Scoping reviews, specifically about research creation in the health sciences

  • Creative and community-based methodologies

  • Gardens, growing food, and disability

  • Zines and community practices
